Which brain are you?
Partly because I am not sure how to know myself and partly because of the gross limits of Western Education I have enjoyed extracurricular learning with Astrology, Numerology, Buddhism and lots more.
Somethings I like are knowing what day of the week I was born. Moonday etc. I was born on Saturn Day and come under Saturn’s good graces?
I was also born on the 30th which fits pretty well with what I am doing. Age tends to prove things true or not.
When I did the brain hemispheres test I was not surprised to be a right hemisphere person. I cannot for the life of me remember details. The sort of thing you need to do when studying grammar and any other heavy duty information packed learning. This meant I was lousy at school because I was discriminated against as a right brain learner. I have a great imagination. i can play music, write poetry and take nice photographs. I had no idea what was going on with math’s, science etc. Many moons later I still cannot remember what a comma is, which is why my sentences run.
The general idea is that the brain has 2 hemispheres, left and right. People tend to favour one or the other. The left brain is logical, detailed, orderly, systematic, disciplined and practical. The right brain is creative, imaginative, intuitive and illogical.
Of course we use both sides of our brains but science tells us that we favour one side more, much more than the other.
You are wondering which one are you? I suggest you write it down then do the test which will prove once and for all what kind of brain you have and how you should function.
The left eye is controlled from the right hemisphere and the right eye from the left hemisphere.
If you get a piece of A4 paper and tear a hole in the middle the size of a golf ball and hold it at arm’s length and look at an object in the room or outside you will see which hemisphere you are.
First hold up the paper with two hands (arms stretched) and look at something like a vase or a lamp. Then close your right eye and you still see it, then that means you are right brained. If you close your left eye and still see it you are left brained.
This is a good test for everyone in the family. Right down what you think you are first and see if you are right.
Other ways you can test yourself and others
- First test hand dominance by doing these three tests:
- Ask your volunteer to write their name on a piece of paper using a pen or pencil. Observe your volunteer to see which hand they write their name with and record the result in your data table.
- Ask your volunteer to use the scissors to cut a piece of paper. Observe which hand they hold the scissors with when cutting the paper and record the result.
- Ask your volunteer to throw a ball, observe which hand they throw the ball with, and record the result.
- Next test foot dominance by doing these three tests:
- Ask your volunteer to kick a ball, observe which foot they use to kick the ball, and record the result in your data table.
- Go to the bottom of a flight of stairs and ask your volunteer to walk up the first few steps. Observe which foot they use to step up the very first step and record the result.
- Place a coin on the floor directly in front of your volunteer. Ask your volunteer to step onto the coin, observe which foot they step on the coin with, and record the result.
- Next test eye dominance by doing these three tests:
- Give your volunteer a paper towel tube or a toilet paper tube and ask them to look at a distant object through it. Observe which eye they use to look through the tube and record the result in your data table.
- Give your volunteer the piece of paper you made a hole in and ask them to look through it. Observe which eye they use and record the result.
- Hold your finger so that it is centered in front of your volunteer and ask them to close one eye to focus on the finger. Observe which eye they keep open and record the result.
- Lastly test ear dominance by doing these three tests:
- Stand front and center looking straight at your volunteer, tell your volunteer that you will whisper something in their ear, and ask them to cup their ear. Observe which ear they cup and record the result in your data table.
- Give your volunteer a sea shell and ask them to listen to it. Observe which ear they put the shell to and record the result.
- Have your volunteer stand facing a wall and then ask them to listen through the wall. Observe which ear they put to the wall and record the result.
LEFT
The left brain is more verbal, analytical, and orderly than the right brain. It’s sometimes called the digital brain. It’s better at things like reading, writing, and computations.

The right brain is more visual and intuitive. It’s sometimes referred to as the analog brain. It has a more creative and less organized way of thinking.

The two hemispheres are tied together by bundles of nerve fibers, creating an information highway. Although the two sides function differently, they work together and complement each other. You don’t use only one side of your brain at a time.
Whether you’re performing a logical or creative function, you’re receiving input from both sides of your brain. For example, the left brain is credited with language, but the right brain helps you understand context and tone. The left brain handles mathematical equations, but right brain helps out with comparisons and rough estimates.
General personality traits, individual preferences, or learning style don’t translate into the notion that you’re left-brained or right-brained.
Still, it’s a fact that the two sides of your brain are different, and certain areas of your brain do have specialties. The exact areas of some functions can vary a bit from person to person.
This is very helpful because if you or a parent are trying to put you into the wrong hemisphere you will feel unhappy and a lot of resistance. If you are right brained you would be a more intuitive and inventive scientist. And if you are left brained your art would be full of lines and order.
Have fun testing everyone. I hope it sheds light on who you are the same as the day you were born and the day number. You can find all the information on the meanings of the day on the internet like Monday = Moon Day – Motherly, protective, love home, like cooking and have a strong imagination. Or born on the 5th you will seek adventure and have an overactive mind, social set and can’t stay still.
