Freedom is worth fighting for
Every day I read the news about the war in Ukraine. I want it to stop and wish it never started. Some of my friends support Russia. They say Putin wants to set Ukrainians free from corruption and the Nazis. I say it is none of Russia’s business and anyway Russia is far more corrupt than any other country in the world and is run by a psychopathic dictator. They say, let’s not be friends anymore. I say ok.
This is much the same as the war between vaxxers and anti vaxxers. There is an insane attempt from at least one side of the argument to be right. And in being right wish the losers to join their rightness and live happily ever after.
This ideological tennis match, is more about being right, smart, wise and on the winning sider than it is about the actual real events. It is about many unhumble humans wanting be better than everyone else. People versus events. A dichotomy of top dogs and the wave of endless and meaningless events that wash onto our shores: daily.
Years ago when a storm lashed our shores we would all batten down our hatches. Now we have endless dialogues, promoted by endless digits on the internet, from nobodies, about how to proceed forward.
Opinions “a view or judgment formed about something, not necessarily based on fact or knowledge.”
Before the internet, opinions stayed, stranded, in the swill stained floors of local bars. Now they are, in their trillions, leaping around with unjustified lives, like billiard balls trying to find a hole, online.
With vaccines for Covid-19 the truth has finally broken free of the vaxxers and anti vaxxers and appears to favour the anti vaxxers. And that truth seems to be that the vaccines are too experimental and lack proper testing. Because of this many people are having side effects and are dying in large numbers. The fact that they are so ‘undercooked’ and still being used when there are a long list of proven alternative treatments and cures suggests that anti vaxxers had a good reason to not be vaccinated. Many doctors in the USA say they are treating Covid-19 successfully with mono clonal antibodies, Ivermectin, Budesonide and dietary supplements like Vitamin D. even Bill Gates has come out and said that the Omicron variant works like a vaccine and protects people from more dangerous variants of covid-19. One point to anti vaxxers no points to the vaxxers who are now dealing with DNA modification in their bodies with potential serious consequences for their health in the future and still getting virus and giving it to others.
What about Ukraine? Some people say Putin is an angel and has come to save Ukraine from Nazis and others say Ukraine has become/becoming a democratic country in its own right. What appears to be the truth? There is a lot of evidence about corruption in Ukraine and Nazis, much the same as Russia. Some people say it is getting better. Other people say Ukraine is a sovereign country that is continually being harassed by Putin. Much the same as China views Taiwan.
So for the pro Putin people and the pro Ukraine people I can only offer my humble and limited view. Ukraine is Ukraine, just like Australia is Australia. They have the right to control their borders and manage their own affairs no matter how corrupt and nazified people say they are. Ukrainians have the right to determine their own future which appears to be being a democratic member of the European Union and a member of NATO. Not part of a totalitarian dictatorship like Russia. I admire their resolve to fulfill their democratic and independent dreams by fighting for it with their lives.
The world can learn from this. We can all do something/fight for what we believe to be good and just. This is the beginning of a new age. We the people will fight for our freedom and justice and will not be slaves to oligarchs, despots and economical criminals anymore.
Thank you Ukraine for the lesson we all needed to learn at this critical time in history. And thank you covid-19 for doing the same thing. Now we know there is more than corrupt governments, doctors and pharmaceutical companies that can take care of our health. We know we have to fight for the right to ‘own our bodies’, our souls and our minds. And no evil corporation or politician is ever going to get so close to my body again.

I am a retired Photography Teacher, Refugee Settlement Manager, and Builder. For the past 10 years, I have been teaching part-time, writing books, taking photos and doing lots of research.
All the books I write come from experience and research. Yes, in my life so far I have worked with refugees, taught art, built houses, studied herbs, and health. I have also studied astrology spirituality including meditation, animal welfare, and poetry.
