Learning to fish

Don’t give them fish, teach them how to fish. This has worked well in Africa. It should work really well in the U.S. as well.

I have worked with the unemployed as a trainer and coordinator. Most of the local unemployed were forced to do some kind of training if they didn’t have a job, to keep getting dole money. The refugees, on the other hand, wanted to do training because they knew it helped them get a job and make money.

Back to the fish. There are now many socialists (politicians, leftish groups and professionals) in America who want take from the rich and give to the poor. This has been done successfully in Sweden. But it is achieved by everyone paying a bit more tax to guarantee a social support system for anyone (rich and poor) in need. Many people like this system. Whereas in America it is about all the poor people who have nothing and don’t work, wanting handouts from the filthy rich. The filthy rich who employ thousands of people, donate money to charity, and invest in new ideas and new ventures.

So what does a lazy, phone addicted, drug-addicted American do to better their lives? Protest and complain and whinge and whine. I don’t think that people who are too lazy to study at school, that don’t go on to get some technical training instead have anything to complain about/to apart from themselves.

In Australia, there are a lot of technical colleges that train apprentices. It normally works like this. The government will pay for their studies, find them a job and organise a minimum wage while they are training for 3 years. Once an employer is found: a bricklayer, tiler, plasterer, painter, electrician, mechanic, plumber, hairdresser, baker, chef or carpenter a government representative will do the appropriate paperwork for their employment, wages and conditions. They will work/learn on the job for one week and the next week go to school and be trained by retired tradesmen and women. This process goes on for three years until they are qualified tradespeople. They usually earn a lot of money at the completion of their apprenticeship. Many tradespeople in Australia earn over $1,000 a week.

With this kind of system in place anybody willing to sign up for this will get enormous support from the government while they are learning to fish and will go onto be pretty rich.

While the ones that are too lazy to do training will often squeeze money out of the government for years because they believe it is a war of the classes and races and they have every right to get anything they want for nothing: much like all the people thieving in broad daylight in Los Angeles and San Francisco without any police intervention.

It is the way the Democratic Government, Biden, provides REPARATION to Black People and the poor white people: let them steal from the rich and don’t arrest them. This the most heinous practice of Democrats. Biden, a sick and twisted Robin Hood stealing from the rich and giving to the poor.

Unfortunately all these businesses they are stealing from hire people, pay taxes and donate money to charity. When there are no shops left open to steal from, and no more taxes to pay their social welfare maybe they may think a little bit about how crazy they really are.

Which brings me to Black Lives Matters and the leader of BLM buying a 6 million dollar house from donations from crazy white people who are afraid the black people will burn them down if they don’t take a knee. And Antifa deciding to be violent and disgusting towards anyone they don’t agree with.

Socialism is not the answer, work is the answer. Work that is available for people willing to be trained. When people work they pay taxes and when they have problems they will get support in return. Some socialism ideas from Sweden have merit and could be incorporated into the U.S. to prevent the war of the classes escalating into a real one. The good thing is that, repeating myself, in Sweden the higher taxation creates benefits for all Swedish people. Education, childcare, pensions and security. Not just for the POOR people who want the rich man’s money to buy a 6 million house so they can be just like them.

The moral to this story is we all have to work, have a structure, get some training and make the best of any community and government support, from taxes: other people’s work. Be grateful, thankful and appreciate every ounce of support that is given by your neighbours and build up your life accordingly.

All poor and disadvantaged people are in need of training in the trades more than anyone else on the planet. It would give them structure, purpose, pride, and independence. Especially the youth. Because, without it, our lives can be worthless, meaningless and extremely difficult.

I am a retired Photography Teacher, Refugee Settlement Manager, and Builder. For the past 10 years, I have been teaching part-time, writing books, taking photos and doing lots of research.

All the books I write come from experience and research. Yes, in my life so far I have worked with refugees, taught art, built houses, studied herbs, and health. I have also studied astrology spirituality including meditation, animal welfare, and poetry.
