Remembering Day

35 years ago I studied under an Indian Guru for a few months. Long enough to transform myself into a spiritual being. What I learned has made some things easier and others harder. The easy thing is knowing that we are born to help each other. That we are helped along our journey and that spiritual life can be full of love for nature, people, animals and the planet. And, seeing the beauty of the sun rising and setting and feeling connected to life’s eternal rhythms and magic.

The hard part is making a life in the material world, knowing that it is not the final meaning. And finding the common ground between all religions, peoples, races and animals. And overcoming human nature. We are always wanting more things, bigger things and more power. This is destroying the spiritual fabric that our material lives to rest and rely on. There are much bigger lists of joys and hardships I can write about; for now, I want to concentrate on that old cliché called gratitude.

Gratitude is the daily acknowledgement that hidden forces are helping you along the way and answering your prayers in the best fashion. Enlightenment is realizing those forces exist in the first place.

Before enlightenment we are focusing all the light on ourselves, and after enlightenment focusing it on others.

Yesterday I woke up for a few minutes and remembered my transformation into… and how I had been transformed many years ago, into a light giver and yet wondered why I keep forgetting that quintessential, pivotal point in my life. Maybe because I have no religion and lack the rituals of remembrance they all have. Or maybe by immersing my life into the paths of others I have no choice but to be lost in the immersion.

This is a special week because I remembered to be grateful for my transformation and also that there is one to be had for everyone: this is the meaning of life. Knowing once again there is a force in my life that has uplifted me and supported me. Now, I will be more mindful and thankful that this force many people call God is the ultimate source of wisdom and happiness. If you are non-religious like me, I encourage you to search, read, and ask for transformation and it will come. Most religious books hold and hide the truth because it will blind you and force your mind into the wilderness. Nevertheless it is there, staring you in the face, waiting for that moment when your heart kills your mind and you can see.

Biography

I am a retired Photography Teacher, Refugee Settlement Manager, and Builder. For the past 10 years, I have been teaching part-time, writing books, taking photos and doing lots of research.

All the books I write come from experience and research. Yes, in my life so far I have worked with refugees, taught art, built houses, studied herbs, and health. I have also studied astrology spirituality including meditation, animal welfare, and poetry.

I sincerely hope that you can gain valuable information from my books (usually short and sweet introductions) to different facets of life I have visited.
