A Child’s Mind, A Child’s Body
A Child’s Mind, A Child’s Body
The causes and cures for obesity are easily understood. Obesity is caused by eating refined carbohydrates (white flour, white rice, sweet drinks, etc.) and is cured by replacing refined carbohydrates with healthy fats, proteins, vegetables, nuts, and seeds. This is an easy fix, and you won’t go hungry doing it. And your “overall health” will improve a lot. Your liver will recover, and if you eat fermented foods every day, your immune system will be much stronger. “Overall health” starts with a healthy liver and a healthy gut.
Being overweight and unhealthy is bad enough, but there is more. When you are overweight, your liver, heart, pancreas, digestive system, etc. are in a state of rapid decline. Children are now being found to have type 2 diabetes and fatty liver disease.
The absolute beauty of dieting and losing weight is that the foods are much healthier. While dieting, you are also becoming healthier and increasing your lifespan. By incorporating new research into intermittent fasting, longevity, sugar, cognitive therapy, meditation, the keto diet, and healthy fats, there is no better time than now to transform your body and your life.
Intermittent fasting is also a great way to get into shape. It is closely linked to the keto diet: eat less sugar and burn your fat for energy instead. You are doing the same thing when you fast. By not eating for 14 hours, your body will burn fat for energy. They are complementary methodologies.
So is eating fermented, probiotics-rich food. When your gut microbiome, or healthy bacteria, is plentiful, you will have more energy, a better metabolism, and a stronger immune system. Foods that are also beneficial to a keto diet, like kefir, sauerkraut, kombucha, and yogurt, are welcome on a keto diet.
On the keto diet, the focus is on fats, proteins, olive oil, and leafy green vegetables. After your blood sugar has normalized and you have lost a significant amount of weight, perhaps in three months, you can maintain your current lifestyle for the rest of your life. You can cut back on fat and increase the variety of fruits and vegetables. However, you should never eat highly processed or refined foods again. And continue your daily walks, runs, surfing, and tennis. On the keto diet, the focus is on fats, proteins, olive oil, and leafy green vegetables. The main reason many of us are overweight is that the US government, in 1977, advised us to cut down on fat and increase our carbohydrates, thinking that fat is bad for your heart, which is still their recommendation. Oils replaced butter, and they are poisonous. Refined vegetable oils are extremely bad for you. They, like margarine, are also a result of the American guidelines to reduce fat. This was the beginning of the low-fat, high-carbohydrate era that is still with us now. The US government has sent millions of Americans, Australians, and Englishmen to an early grave with this “wrong advice.” The replacement for fats became refined sugar and starches. Something far more deadly for us, especially our hearts, than healthy fats.
Now, the American Heart and Diabetes Associations advise everyone to reverse this advice and eat fewer carbohydrates and eat some fat, like bacon, cheese, butter oils, milk, yogurt, meat, etc. The main reason for this is that refined carbohydrates, like donuts, bread, pasta, and margarine, which are much worse than fat, replaced the fat. Research says that refined sugar increases inflammation, causes heart disease, and should only be consumed in fruit and vegetables.
One reason why vegetables, protein, and fats are eaten and not carbohydrates in the keto diet is because they don’t create much sugar in your body, so your body uses stored fat, or ketones, for energy instead.
It is the constant snacking, usually junk food, that causes you to gain weight. Back in the good old days, a roast dinner would keep you full all day and not make you fat. If you do intermittent fasting and don’t eat from 8 p.m. to noon, you’ll be able to control how often you snack and how much junk food you eat.
Another thing to keep in mind is that refined carbohydrates raise, then lower, your blood sugar and insulin levels, making you feel constantly hungry. When you eat protein, vegetables, and fats, you stay full for hours, and the energy is slowly released.
And counting calories in a diet is not the best way to diet. 1 egg, 155 calories, and 2 slices of bread, 140 calories, have the same number of calories. But the egg does not spike your blood sugar. It will supply you with constant energy for hours. This means if you are doing your diet, you need to match low calories with low-glycemic foods to burn fat and have energy.
White bread and glucose have been given the highest possible rating of 100 on the hypoglycemic index because they raise blood glucose levels higher and quicker than most other foods. Another reason we eat so much fast food is because of women’s liberation in the 1970s. When women entered the workforce in equal numbers as men, the consumption of fast food skyrocketed because, understandably, women were often too tired or lacked the time to cook.
Obesity is a disease caused by eating too many refined carbohydrates (sugar, starch, and fiber). We consume refined carbohydrates as a quick energy source, as a treat because we don’t have to cook, through addiction, and as a result of government and food industry propaganda: excess is converted to fat. Our body does not even need to eat carbohydrates to be healthy; only fat and protein are needed. Type 2 diabetes is one of many diseases caused by refined carbohydrate consumption.
We all know that fast food and refined foods are unhealthy. If we are healthy and not overweight, then our diet includes fruits, vegetables, protein, nuts, seeds, fats, and whole grains. When our diets have a lot of refined carbohydrates and few natural fruits, vegetables, and fats, then we become obese and unhealthy.
After a meal, glucose enters the liver, and levels of blood glucose rise. This excess glucose is dealt with by glycogenesis, in which the liver converts glucose into glycogen for storage.
Excessive carbohydrates can destroy your liver through fatty liver syndrome.
Luckily, there is a remedy for this: the keto diet. by replacing pizza, spaghetti, soda, fruit juices, donuts, seed oils, sugar, cake, hamburgers, etc, with vegetables, fruit, protein, fats, nuts, a little olive oil, and seeds, we can get our health back in 3 or 4 months.
Vegetables are full of polyphenols, a group of compounds found in plant foods that are very beneficial for health. They’re naturally found in many plant-based foods, like fruits, vegetables, herbs, tea, red wine, and dark chocolate.
Polyphenols act as antioxidants in the body, meaning they help protect the body and neutralize free radicals that cause damage to cells. Free radicals are highly reactive oxygen molecules produced by normal cellular processes and external factors like radiation, air pollution, smoking, and chemical exposure.
Polyphenols lower blood sugar, increase insulin sensitivity, decrease cancer risk, reduce inflammation, improve heart health and digestion, and boost brain function.
Foods high in polyphenols include broccoli, carrots, spinach, red lettuce, onions, asparagus, artichokes, shallots, red wine, dark chocolate, garlic, tea, herbs, oats, rye, wheat, chilies, basil, ginger, peppermint, oregano, kale, coffee, parsley, soybeans, black beans, tofu, strawberries, raspberries, blueberries, apples, cherries, oranges, plums, turmeric, almonds, pecans, chestnuts, and
One cup of black coffee per day reduces the risk of developing diabetes by 8%.
And, equally important as polyphenols, are the good bacteria, or probiotics, found in fermented foods.
A healthy gut microbiome is the number one thing you must have to live a long, slim, and healthy life.
When your microbes and healthy bacteria are low, you can suffer from depression, anxiety, and mood swings, as well as obesity.
When you take a course of antibiotics, you wipe out all your good gut bacteria. This is a disaster.
It is not a good idea to restrict your calorie intake to lose weight. Carbohydrate calories and fat calories are not the same. Another equally good thing to do while following the Mediterranean diet is intermittent fasting.
This allows your microbiome and your body to recharge. It helps reduce your intake of food and snacking. This entails only eating within 10 hours. For example, 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. or 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. People who fast have more energy, sleep better, have better moods, have reduced inflammation, and have less reflux and heartburn.
The bottom line is to cut out all refined carbs that give you a quick fix and replace them with organic vegetables and fermented foods. There is a sugar spike when you eat refined carbohydrates that shoot up and then go down again. needing continual fixes.
By doing a keto diet for 3 months, you will improve your health, lose weight, and reduce your risk of diabetes, and it will reintroduce fats, fermented foods, and vegetables into your long-term diet.
Not only can obesity be cured this way, but So can type 2 diabetes, pre-diabetes, inflammation, hypertension, depression, liver disease, lethargy, etc.
By going on a ketogenic diet, you will lose weight and replace a lot of poisonous foods with more healthy ones. To get into and stay in ketosis, a keto diet restricts all carbohydrates to around 20 grams per day. When you are in ketosis, your body burns fat and uses it as an energy source.
There is irrefutable evidence that a high-carb diet (with too much sugar) creates many health and psychological problems. Type 2 diabetes, depression, obesity, tiredness, eating disorders, inflammation, hypertension, etc.
All refined carbohydrates should be replaced with healthy fats. like grass-fed butter, avocados, coconut, egg yolks, and olive oils. Fats have double the calories of carbohydrates, yet the energy is slowly released and there are no glucose spikes. and no insulin is released. Fats are a necessary macronutrient for humans. Up to 70 percent of our brain is made of fat. Fat is very important for proper brain function.
For a millennium, humans never consumed many carbohydrates; they survived very well on fats and protein until 1980 when the US government issued health guidelines to increase carbohydrates and reduce fats. thinking this would be better for your heart, and it wasn’t.
This has been a disaster for the world. The main reason you are overweight is because of these wrong guidelines. By reducing your carbohydrates and increasing fats, like on a keto diet, you can reverse type 2 diabetes, lose weight fast, have more energy, and be perfectly healthy.
A book by the American Diabetes Association, “Low Carbohydrate and Very Low Carbohydrate Eating Patterns in Adults with Diabetes: A Guide for Health Care Providers.”
We have replaced natural, healthy fat with sugar, refined flour, and trans fats (partially hydrogenated oil) in margarine and some vegetable oils. Trans fats are linked to heart disease, inflammation, higher levels of LDL (bad) cholesterol, and lower levels of HDL (good) cholesterol, according to studies. Fried fast foods, such as fried chicken, battered fish, doughnuts, French fries, and mozzarella sticks, all contain high levels of trans fat. Bakery goods such as muffins, cakes, pastries, and pies are often made with vegetable shortening or margarine.
Refined sugar is pure poison and is the main creator of inflammation, the prime starting point for many diseases. Sugar, which is made up of glucose and fructose molecules, is a poison because of the way our bodies break it down. “When you metabolize fructose in excess, your liver has no choice but to turn that energy into liver fat, and that liver fat causes all of the downstream metabolic diseases.” Like glycation, oxidative stress, inflammation, mitochondrial dysfunction, insulin resistance, and membrane instability. It is not about obesity; it is about metabolic dysfunction and insulin resistance.
Overall health and happiness depend on being healthy and trim. This can be accomplished by consuming fermented foods such as kefir, yogurt, sauerkraut, and kombucha, as well as maintaining a healthy digestive system and liver by replacing refined carbohydrates, most carbohydrates, with healthy fats and protein. Cutting out trans fats, margarine, and seed oils and replacing them with olive oil will make a huge difference, as will eating organic, whole foods.
Governments are ruled by big business, and big business is ruled by profits. There is no way you can believe your government or most doctors care a fig about you or your health, only your money. Through taxes, pharmaceutical companies, doctors, and processed food producers (farmers and factories), you are being fleeced.
If you only understand this one thing in this book, you will be trim and healthy: governments, doctors, pharmaceutical companies, and food companies have made you sick and fat. But you now have the knowledge and the means to save yourself—a cheap and simple diet known as keto. supported by hundreds of doctors, the American Diabetes Association, and the American Heart Association. Healthy fats are good and necessary for you, much more than refined carbohydrates. A keto diet is like the normal diet we have eaten for thousands of years: high in vegetables, fruit, nuts, healthy fats, and protein. After losing weight, you may decide to eat some carbohydrate vegetables, like potatoes and corn, and the odd chapati.
Keto is a short-term diet for three to six months. After your body has recovered from the carbohydrates, you can continue on a diet like the Mediterranean one. They are similar.
The most important religion in the universe is truth. The truth here is that refined carbohydrates are deadly, as are most refined foods. And equally important is a healthy digestive system achieved by consuming probiotic and prebiotic foods, especially after taking a course of antibiotics that kill all your healthy bacteria (doctors never tell you this either). And refined carbohydrates such as sugar, flour, and starch are primarily converted into sugar in your body. If you don’t burn it quickly, it will be stored as fat. This doesn’t happen with most vegetables, proteins, and fats. This is because they release their energy slowly, giving us constant energy until the next meal and during our fasting times.
The truth is that fat is the preferred fuel of human metabolism and has been for most of human evolution. In normal situations, we only need a small amount of glucose, and most or all of it can be made by the liver as needed every day.
When we eat calories, our bodies convert them into energy, which we need. Any excess is stored as fat in our liver and other organs. When we reduce or stop our consumption of calories, our bodies will use the stored fat as energy.
All of this is normal until we consume too many carbohydrates, like pizza, donuts, French fries, cake, coke, etc., at which point our body has to convert them all to fat and we become fatter.
This process continues until we reduce our carbohydrates enough for our bodies to start burning the fat because they need energy. Our body will do this quickly when we exercise at the same time.
This book includes different techniques while at the same time reducing sugar to make dieting easier—changing your eating and exercise habits permanently. And it has new ideas like intermittent fasting, keto, and productive exercise. Then there is the Mediterranean diet, which is a popular diet for losing weight and being healthy. Combining a diet like this with intermittent fasting and productive exercise, you will feel very good and want to make it a permanent part of your life.
When I was young, I had a normal physique. I didn’t eat a lot of snacks and enjoyed physical activities like swimming and surfing. The first time I put on weight was when I had a family. They loved my spaghetti and cheese. This was the beginning of outside influences making it difficult for me to commit to a healthy and slimming diet. My weight has been up and down ever since. I am also less active as I get older. When my wife buys me a cake, I eat it submissively.
I am now 10 kilograms overweight. In the past, I have had success with canned fish, not knowing it was some kind of keto diet. I binged on canned fish for a month, and all my weight disappeared. A year ago, I tried a more serious keto diet, and it worked the same. I consumed eggs, canned fish, and avocados for 2 months. I broke this winning situation with my wife’s desire to have homemade pizza every second night. Bread and pizza, without cheese, put weight back on me so fast. I know all I have to do is stop eating carbohydrates and sugar, and I will be skinny as a rake.
Am I blaming my partners and family members for breaking my near-nonexistent will? Yes!
For me to lose weight, the very first thing I have to do is say to myself, “You have to do your own thing.” The moment you eat for other people, you have lost. This works well if I am determined, but even then, the will is easily broken by other people’s desires, parties, and eating out.
The first rule: You can only lose weight if you love yourself and overcome negative thoughts and emotions about yourself.
The second rule is: straying from your diet once is the end of your diet. Some famous people eat only steak, fish, and vegetables to control their eating habits. You won’t be hungry if you don’t snack and follow the keto guidelines. A few too many carbs will stop ketogenesis; no ketones will be produced, and you will stop burning fat.
The third rule: The keto diet works. You can eat cheese, olive oil, avocados, berries, meat, fish, green vegetables, eggs, bacon, and lots more. You can’t eat refined carbohydrates, vegetables with a lot of carbohydrates like potatoes, or obvious sugars, including sugary fruit. Around 40 grams of carbohydrates per day Follow the keto diet rules, and you will be amazed.
The fourth rule: Most Western children celebrate their birthdays with junk food. This is a happy time that is associated with junk food. When we get older, we often say, “Hey, it’s my birthday; I can eat whatever junk I want,” as if it were a special occasion. This is a huge conflict between our conscious and unconscious minds that must be understood and won. Be happy that healthy food will make your engine run smoothly.
There are thousands of diet books out there that say much the same thing as I do. I hope this one offers some new ideas and insights on how to lose weight permanently. All the books I have read say the same thing: keto is good for losing weight, and the Mediterranean diet is good for the long term, as is exercise.
The fifth rule: Just like giving up smoking, you have to dig in and suffer a little bit for 30 days to make your commitment a concrete habit, a new way of life. Life is meaningless if we can’t fight and win battles. Losing weight is better, though, because after one week you can see huge improvements.
Once we start a keto diet, we can get into other areas of weight loss like exercise, fasting, herbs, and our unconscious mind.
Considering how I have lost weight in the past, the book could stop here. You can buy a box of eggs, avocados, spinach, and canned fish. With some really good cheese and water, you’ll be as thin as a bobby pin in a month—and never go hungry for a second.
During my life, I have exercised, sometimes, a very strong will and determination to do something. like fasting for a month, building my house by myself in 40-degree heat, and walking through some spiritual doors. If you struggle to get started, don’t worry; while reading the book, you can slowly and surely let out the Samurai warrior within.
When I am overweight, I feel embarrassed, lacking mindfulness, uncomfortable, especially in my clothes, and quite the loser. That is me. Feel free to feel whatever you want. I think that being overweight has so many negative effects on one’s soul and physical well-being. Similar to giving up smoking, we need an epiphany that says, “I am going to do it now!” Losing weight is much like losing the nicotine in your lungs—it’s a win-win.
We don’t need much science when it comes to losing weight. For 95% of people, it’s because we eat more than our body needs. And if we are talking about calories, that’s mainly because fast food, hamburgers, soda, and fries are all deadly. Too many carbohydrates and not enough healthy fats and vegetables
Why do we eat more than our body needs? Some reasons could be that we can’t afford high-quality, nutrient-dense food. Or we have never grown up and are living out our birthday over and over again.
Other reasons are too much time spent on computers and smartphones, not playing any sports, and not being productive in building, growing, and fixing things.
If you are overweight and you think that’s okay, why did you buy this book? I don’t feel a lot of sympathy for people who eat way too much junk and get fat. You know what you are doing: killing yourself.
Finally, the big catch-22. When we feel sad about being overweight, lonely, or poor, we will eat more to make ourselves happy, and then the vicious cycle continues until we can’t walk very well. The way out of this vicious cycle is to eat healthy things to make yourself feel better—not children’s food, which is what most of the keto diet consists of.
I wish you well on your journey. Life is too short to be secretly unhappy with yourself. When I start my keto diet and have an egg without bread for breakfast, my heart sings.
Give yourself the permission you need to lose weight and don’t be concerned about disrupting the family routine. If you are anything like me, this can be the biggest hurdle to overcome when losing weight. If someone else in your family needs to lose weight, now is a good time to do it together. and turn your negative messages to yourself into positive ones.
The most amazing thing is that it works and you don’t feel hungry. After eating canned fish, green vegetables, kiwi fruit, cheese, avocados, olive oil, and eggs for a week (the keto diet) you will lose a lot of weight. One day, one week, at a time. Train your mind to believe in the future, and then trust the future waiting for the thinner you. Imagine in your mind, see yourself as thinner, healthier, and happier.
The sixth rule is: to visualize yourself as thinner and healthier, and then move into that vision. Day by day, and soon that vision will be real, like magic.
The seventh rule: Your mind plays tricks on you. Be mindful of what you hear it saying. One piece of cake won’t hurt, fat people are happy, wait until summer, you can’t afford it, I can’t do it, etc. These are all negative thoughts surfacing in your mind that are intent on sabotaging you. I often think the mind can be the true devil when it continually gives you terrible advice. It does this with smoking too.
After eating I need a smoke. I can’t talk on the phone without a smoke. I will get fat if I give up smoking. Romance can be fraught with negative thoughts as well. What if she says no? I am not beautiful. The source of all these negative thoughts is a mystery. Maybe they are coming from a scared little child within who doesn’t want to change. Either way, Buddhist techniques of following your thoughts, letting them pass, not acting on them, and remaining calm and free of that nasty negative voice pumping thoughts into your conscious mind, works extremely well. By being aware of them you can stop them, not act on them and save yourself a lot of trouble.
An example of the way this works is this true story. My brother started to think he loved his best friend’s wife. These thoughts grew and grew. It affected his marriage so much. He started planning how he could be with her, spying on her and before long his thoughts changed his reality and he was living inside a dream. His best friend’s wife had no idea of this drama going on inside his head and was not interested in him at all. Then, one fateful day, my brother told his wife—not his best friend’s—that he was in love with another woman. She immediately left him; they got divorced and sold their home. All this time, his fantasy remained. The big wake-up call came when he found himself homeless and alone, and he never met the girl of his dreams. He eventually committed suicide. He couldn’t survive in the world his mind had created.
It is a skill to live in the moment with grace, positivity, and awareness. Then you can quite easily recognize all the negative and crazy thoughts pouring into your conscious mind and let them go. I used to have so many, but now my mind is usually empty. Now, it is usually negative and crazy thoughts coming from others that can do me in. I have to let them go, just like my own negative thoughts.
The eighth rule: We are all, at some time or another, victims of false scenarios our minds play inside our heads that are not real. and need to awaken from, like an epiphany.
Meditation can help here. When you meditate, you become much more aware of your thoughts and what it’s like to be free of them. A good way to understand this is to do this. Breathe in very slowly through your nose for 7 seconds, hold your breath for 7 seconds, and then breathe out very slowly through a small hole in your mouth for 7 seconds, then hold your breath for 7 seconds, and repeat 2 times. You will immediately be in an alpha-mind state with slower mental vibrations. In this state, you will hear the birds singing outside and feel the wind and sun on your face. Colors will be brighter, and you will be aware of everything around you. The more you do this, the more you will realize how your mind is chatting away at you all the time, making you play Ticktock and Facebook, how it is controlling you, and how it is not the real you.
The ninth rule: Do this breathing exercise often so your negative mind is conquered for good. Then losing weight will be a piece of cake—but not in your mouth.
Just a couple more rules, and then we can move on with the book.
Ginger juice is very good for losing weight. A friend of mine juiced a piece of ginger the size of this thumb and mixed it with water every day for months. He lost all his excess weight while eating normal, healthy food. Ginger is a powerful blood thinner, so be aware of that when using it for weight loss.
The tenth rule: Ginger juice with nothing else will help you lose weight.
The last one is a productive exercise. My ginger juice friend now runs twice a day, instead of drinking ginger, on country roads. He loses weight doing this as well. For him, and everyone wanting to be trim and healthy, it is empowering to act and win. He feels good because he overcame any negative thoughts about running and has become super fit. This is not fully what I call productive exercise, but close. He has a serious desk job. Getting outside into the fresh air, in the sun, and running on beautiful country roads gives him that contrast that makes him feel alive.
What I call “100% productive exercise” is using your energy for a productive purpose. like growing vegetables, building a house, or foraging. It seems crazy to me to work in an office job all day, then pay money to a gym to get fit, when you could get fit doing something worthwhile that eventually saves or makes you money.
The eleventh rule: Get off the couch, get productive, and lose weight at the same time. I have always liked physical work, but not monotonous physical work. I can build a house, make a table, and do plumbing, tiling, painting, and roofing. I am a self-taught builder and have built two homes very cheaply. The feeling of pride and accomplishment at the end of the day and with the project is more valuable than gold.
I was born before computers and telephones when people were active—before computers, fast food, and free money from the government. The world is changing fast. Soon there will be thousands of robots doing your job so you can stay home and play monotonous games, eat, and sleep. There are pictures of people at the beach in the 1960s, and not one person was overweight. Now, when you look at a picture, no one is skinny.
The twelfth rule: Be the child you once were.
Children are usually so healthy-looking. slim and muscular. They rarely get emotionally caught up with food. They eat to live. Then they go outside and play, play, and play. Whatever dramas adults must deal with haven’t come yet. Go back to those days and live a healthy life. Stop worrying about who loves you or doesn’t. How much money do the neighbors have? and winning the next battle in ROV.
The thirteenth rule—and the most important—is that whatever is blocking us, sabotaging us, and confusing us is fixable. with cognitive therapy, meditation, and mindfulness. And we can, with the help of good books, fix ourselves easily and quickly. This fix will improve all aspects of our lives.
The idea of doing nothing appeals to a lot of people these days. This is incorrect reasoning. There are so many good things you could be doing to benefit yourself, your family, and the world. We are born with muscles for a reason. From memory, Jesus and Buddha worked hard every day to support your growth and happiness. Now it’s your turn to pass it on.
